Spectacular Norfolk garden opens for charity

Mr & Mrs Hambro, owners of a spectacular garden in Norfolk will be throwing open their doors on the 20th June in a bid to raise money for charity.  Opening for the worthwhile causes of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) they are also donating the refreshment and stall money raised to the local charity Quidenham Hospice.  Every year the NGS raise over £2 million for  Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Crossroads Care and Help the Hospices, The Queen’s Nursing Institute, The Royal Fund for Gardeners’ Children, NGS gardeners’ careership (the National Trust) and Perennial - Gardeners’ Royal Benevolent Society. Over 1000 local charities are nominated yearly by garden owners.

Manor Farm, Coston Lane, Coston is open 11-5, Admission £4, children free.  It is approximately a three acre country garden with several small garden rooms.  It features a walled kitchen garden, white, grass and late summer gardens, roses, herbaceous and shrub borders.  Discover wild areas with ponds and many interesting plants.

County organiser Anthea Foster said” Many more organisations, clubs and societies are exhibiting in gardens or organising events.  There are several Norfolk open gardens that feature different displays.  It is not just garden sculptures and art exhibitions.  It also provides another interest for the garden visitor and hopefully many new visitors who are garden lovers  lovers”.

Janine Curtis: Phoenix Trading Home stationary, greetings cards and wrapping paper.
Norfolk Rustic Crafts: Natural Garden Sacks for storing vegetables.
Susie Richie: Bar-B-Q All local produce.
Norfolk Farmhouse Ice creams: Delicious home-made ice creams from North Tuddenham.
